Simultaneous protests against Pakistan ISI sponsored terrorism in Afghanistan

LONDON: A number of Afghan youth held  peaceful protests in London, Toronto and Washington DC on Sunday to condemn Pakistan’s intelligence Agencies, ISI sponsored ‘terrorism’ in Afghanistan.

Protesters in London appealed the government of UK to put pressure on Pakistan and its intelligence agencies to end supporting Taliban suicide bombers who killed hundreds of Afghans in their recent acts of terror.

London based pro-freedom Baluch activists also joined the Afghan youth protest to show their solidarity with people of Afghanistan. They Baluch activists strongly condemned Pakistani state sponsored terrorist attacks in Afghanistan.

Nobat Marri Baloch said: “Baloch and Afghans have historical ties and they helped each other in difficult times. The people of Afghanistan should support the Baloch struggle for liberation because only an independent Balochistan can guarantee peace and prosperity in Afghanistan.”

He also said when Balochistan becomes a free country it will not allow Pakistan to send its jihadist extremist through Balochistan to destroy peace of Afghanistan.

Gulwali Passarlay who had come from Manchester to attend the protest in London told Radio Aashna said that Pakistan and the ISI must end their role in killing innocent Afghan people. “Pakistan is playing double games because on one hand it continues to kill Afghans while on the other hand it claims to be a friend of Afghanistan,” Mr Passarlay added.

Ihsanullah Hayat, another Afghan youth who joined the London protest wrote on his Facebook page: “The only reason for attending today’s protest was to send message to our people in Afghanistan that we are far in distance but our hearts are attached to Afghanistan, and your happiness is our happiness and when you suffer we are suffering.”

On the same day [Sunday] hundreds of Afghans in Toronto, Canada gathered outside Pakistani consulate to voice their opposition to the interference of Pakistan in Afghanistan.

Dawod Ahmadzai, a resident of Toronto, who had participated in the protest, said their objective was to give awareness to people about the recent deadly developments in Afghanistan and they will continue to do so.

Recent month insecurity has increased in Afghanistan, especially in Kabul, last month the city saw 11 suicide attacks and explosions that killed dozens and injured tens of innocent people.

Meanwhile Afghan activists in America also organised a protest in front of Congress building in Washington DC and accused Pakistani intelligence agency of killing Afghans and playing double game.

Khosro Payiz, who had come from California to join the protest in Washington DC, said that the demonstrations in London, Canada and America were coordinated by Afghan youth via social media and they decided to conduct simultaneous protests on Sunday 7th December.

Mr Payiz told Voice of America said that the goal of peaceful protests was to express sympathy with his compatriots whose loved ones lost their lives in the terrorist attacks supported by Pakistan.

He said that [they] want to reflect the voice of Afghan people that they do not want any more wars and do not want to victims of terrorism after enormous sacrifices [for peace] because during past 13 years Afghans have given enough sacrifices.

Khosro Payiz said that they want the US Government and the Congress to limit their financial aid to Pakistan about war on terror and tighten their terms and conditions so that Pakistan fights this war honestly.

Mureed Ahmad one of the protesters was chanting slogans, in cold weather in Washington DC, against the terrorist attacks and inhuman policies of Pakistan and its army in Afghanistan.

Mr Ahmad said: “Naturally, as a human being and as an Afghan he condemns the attacks that led to the loss of lives of innocent people whether in Afghanistan or in Pakistan. He said that the aim of such attacks is to undermine the national unity government in Afghanistan.”
