 Balochistan: School teacher abducted in Mand, UoB professor attacked in Quetta

QUETTA: Pakistan security forces have abducted a school teacher from Gayab area of Mand while an assistant professor of Balochistan University was injured when unknown assailants open firing at him in Quetta on Thursday.

According to details Pakistani security forces barged into the Middle school Mand Gayab in Mand Balochistan and abducted senior teacher, Mr Munir Rahshon Baloch, at gunpoint. Mr Rahshon is also a well-known Balochi language poet.

The Baloch students staged a sit-in in front of Pakistan army camp in Soro area of Mand against the abduction of Munir Rahshon.

However, his whereabouts remained unknown until the filing of this report.

It is worth mentioning that Mr Munir Baloch has been abducted a day after the discovery of mutilated body of previously abducted Baloch teacher, Nawaz Mehrab Baloch, in Kalatuk area of Turbat Balochistan.

Meanwhile, unknown armed men riding on motorcycles opened firing at assistant professor Bar-ud-Din at Almo Chowk area of Quetta.

The bullets hit his both his legs and as a result he was wounded. He has been shifted to CMH Quetta for immediate treatment.

Local authorise suspected it was a case of family dispute.

Pakistani Police and Para-military arrested 11 people from different localities of Saryab Road Quetta on Thursday night.

Separately, in Awarn Balochistan, Pakistani security forces attacked and burned several houses of Baloch political activists.

Sources reported that Baloch women and children were harassed and intimidated during the attacks in different areas of Awaran including Teertej, Siyah Gazzi, Harooni Dann and Goristan.
