According to details, Pakistani forces raided several houses at Gomazi in district Kech’s Tump region in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Local sources informed BalochWarna News that Pakistani forces misbehaved with women and children during their offensives and also looted valuables from the houses of poor residents.

‘During these offensives, Pakistani forces initially abducted 14 people but six of them have been released later. Eight are still in the custody of Pakistani forces but their whereabouts are unknown to their families,’ a resident of Tump who now lives abroad told Balochwarna News.

The abducted men have been named as Mulla Zahid son of Barkat, Fida son of Khoda Dad, Jala son of Khoda Dad, Khalid son of Anwar, Sagheer son of Abdul Samad and Adam son of Ibrahim. The identity of another two arrested men could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.

The families of the abducted men expressed concerns about the well-being and safety of their loved ones. They also feared that their relatives may be disappeared for years like thousands of other missing persons in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, in a different raid on Wednesday 4th of July, Pakistani police have arrested dozens of students from a library at Bolan Medical College (BMC) hostel in Quetta – the capital of Balochistan.

The students have been taken to a nearby police station. It is not known why they Pakistani forces raided the library and arrested the students.

In the past Pakistani forces raided universities, libraries and bookshops without any valid reason and arrested Baloch students and bookshop owners merely for selling books that are openly available in markets in every city of Pakistan.

The Baloch pro-freedom political parties and students organisations termed such actions of Pakistani forces a deliberate attempt to deprive Baloch students of education.

It is also pertinent to mention that Pakistani paramilitary have occupied several schools in Balochistan and converted them into their check posts and torture chambers.
