The legacy of Kaheeri Marri

 The legacy of Kaheeri Marri

The spirit who has seen the spectre of death cannot be afraid by the sword glittering over his head, the soldiers who run blood under his feet cannot be afraid by the stones thrown towards him by the children. On May 4, Pakistani state forces besieged Sohrod area of district Kohlu Balochistan and started barbaric offensives on innocent Baloch without knowing that the unknown four Guerrillas fighters of the Baloch nation were positioning to combat the criminal army armed to teeth with tanks and other lethal weapons under surveillance of helicopters. Kaheeri Marri along with his brother Mitta Khan Marri and two sons Najeeb Marri and Tufail Marri accomplished their duty to their soil, irrespective of the fact that the entire Baloch nation was not aware of their affiliation as guerrilla fighters of Balochistan liberation army (BLA).

The advance of Pakistan army turned into retreat position when under command-ship of kaheeri Marri his two sons and brother opened fire on the Pakistani army which resulted in killing seven army and paramilitary personnel leaving behind dozens other injured.

The battle took four hours, the guerrillas have had enough time to surrender prior to besiege of entire district Kohlu but they preferred death to bow themselves to the enemy who occupied the motherland Balochistan. The astonishing fact before the Baloch nation is that kaheeri Marri along his sons and brother did not fight for fame and fashion but were silent attackers who inflicted heavy casualties to Pakistani army in the region of Kohlu since decades, In fact, they fulfilled the true meaning of waging Guerrilla warfare by hiding their identity.

In contemporary age of social media, they distance themselves from using Facebook, Twitter or uploading snaps of their charismatic personalities but silence and camouflage were their images which revealed their true identity after the martyrdom. When news broke out that Kaheeri Marri and his two sons Tufail and Najeeb Marri were martyred whereas his brother Mita Khan Marri was captured wounded by Pakistani forces. The importance of social media cannot and should not be ignored in this age and time. Baloch political activists and political parties like other nations around the world should use this opportunity positively to promote their cause and expose barbarism of enemy states. However, it is not a place for guerrilla fighters to post snaps only to receive praises. Even if their twitter handles are run by their supporter from abroad still it is an immature act one should refrain from it.

Pakistan thought that their death will end in mystery but they became legends for the Baloch nation when Baloch youth rushed to social media and put their pictures on their walls by symbolizing them as heroes of the Baloch nation. The martyrdom of the troika has rejuvenated the spirit of nationalism and demand for free Balochistan. A few years ago another son of Kaheeri Marri was also martyred in the line of duty in Chamalang Balochistan. The entire family has sacrificed their life and ionized the Baloch youth that if you see a slave sleeping awake him and explain to him freedom rather than letting him sleep that he might be dreaming freedom.

Balochistan liberation army spokesperson Azad Baloch through their official Twitter account @BalochArmy owned the great sacrifices of his comrades and paid a rich tribute to their bravery and commitment to the cause of free Balochistan. Pakistan in term of war with Baloch nation was defeated morally on the spot when the troika ambushed them and poured their life for the sake of Baloch nation’s prosperity. Kaheeri Marri and his sons were defender of Balochistan enriched region Kohlu’s resources which have been a battleground from British occupation during Anglo-Marri war to the occupation of Pakistan. The legacy of Kaheeri Marri would be remembered in Baloch history with golden words. We Baloch nations are proud of them and salute their bravery with the hope that there are hundreds of Kaheri Marri to defy and defeat Pakistan army in the battleground.
