 Balochistan: Two including a teenage boy shot dead in Barkhan

QUETTA: Two people including a teenage boy were killed in a cricket ground in Basti Zidan (Zadin Town) in Rakhni area of district Barkahn on March 28.

According to details, on the evening of 28th of March, the Rakhni Police chased a dacoit named Allah Bakhsh to the cricket ground where the youth were playing and opened fire upon the him.

As a result, Allah Bakhsh was killed on the spot and three youth Abdul Jabbar, Rahim Bakhsh and Khair Bakhsh were wounded.

The DSP Rakhni Usman Ghani alleged Allah Bakhsh was a wanted criminal in several cases and that he died due his own friends’ firing.

The police team was led by SHO Rakhni police station Assadullah Khusti, who originally hails from Zhob.

The Uncle of one of the wounded youth said that the Police opened fire at Allah Bakhsh and the boys were injured as a result of police’s firing.

The injured were shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan where their condition remains critical.

On 31 March (today) Mir Sher Baz Khetran, a writer and research fellow at Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, confirmed to Balochwarna news that 14-year-old Abdul Jabbar succumbed to death in hospital.

He also rejected the DSP’s statement and said that eyewitnesses told him that the man police chased was not armed at the time.

The residents of Basti Zadin and surroundings have strong condemned the incident and demanded an impartial inquiry.

They also demanded that SHO Assadullah should be suspended immediately and interrogated in murder case of Abdul Jabbar.
