Balochistan: Teenager battling cancer shot dead by Pakistani forces

QUETTA: Pakistani forces killed a teenage Baloch cancer patient in Mand town of district Kech, Balochistan on Thursday.

According to details, the victim Imam son of Sher Mohammed was travelling along with his brother and uncle when Pakistan military personnel opened fire on their vehicle in Aapsikan area of Mand, Balochistan.

Imam received multiple bullet wounds and died due to excessive bleeding because the military stopped their vehicle a long time and did not offer any medical support to the wounded.

When the Pakistani realise that chances of Imam’s survival are slim, they handed him over to the local Levies forces.

The Levies also kept him for sometime before finally taking him to hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on the way to the hospital.

The teenage Baloch boy belongs to a very poor family and was being supported by his local community for his cancer treatment.

Jamal Baloc, a human rights activist and freelance journalist who also hails from the same town as Imam, tweeted:

Imam s/o Sher Mohd who hardly defeated cancer, shot dead by the Pakistani military today in my hometown Mand, #Balochistan. He belongs to a very poor family and was supported by the locals in his fight against cancer but failed to escape from the tumour (#Pakistan) of this planet.
