Canada :

Vancouver: International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and Baloch Human Rights Council of Canada announced to observe National Day of Baloch Martyrs – Shahmiren Balochaani Ruch, on 18 November. The organiser have requested Baloch community in Canada to participate in the event to remember those who sacrificed their lives for a free, democratic and united Balochistan.

The actual Remembrance Day on the 13 November but Baloch diaspora in Europe and Scandinavian countries usually have their meeting on Sunday as most people are free on weekends. It is the day Baloch nation remembers their martyrs who solely lay down their precious life protecting their homeland, rich culture, language and national identity.

On November 13, 1839 the sovereign state of Balochistan was attacked by forces from the British Empire and the Khan Mehrab Khan, the ruler of Balochistan, chose to fight back instead of surrendering to the invading forces. During that fierce battle against the British forces he received martyrdom along with his committed companions. He left a legacy for his next generation, as the resilient Baloch nation refuses to give up their struggle to regain their freedom.

This is the day that each year Baloch remember and honour their national heroes and heroines.

Baloch nation has been a victim of mass execution and extra judicially killings. Today they are facing illegal arrests, unlawful imprisonments in the hand of Pakistani and Iranian security forces. The ground reality exists that there is a serious human rights violation in Balochistan. Sadly, the international media is unaware of this very reality. Both non democratic and fundamentalist state of Pakistan and Iran are trying to keep the International Community in the dark about Balochistan’s ongoing serious atrocities and genocide.
