The Baloch Human Rights Organisation said that Human Rights Violations were continuing in Balochistan unabated. The state security forces are victimizing Baloch political activists, Doctors, intellectuals, poets, teachers, students and other members of Baloch society.
According to details the BHRO in a statement said that Pakistan’s intelligence agencies personnel shot dead three Baloch activists namely Sana Baloch, Ashraf Baloch and Riaz Baloch few days ago in Khuzdar. Previously also the state forces have targeted killed several innocent unarmed Baloch in different areas of Balochistan. The abduction of Baloch political activists and kill and dump by state forces is rapidly intensifying in Balochistan.
The BHRO statement further said that the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons members were receiving constant threats to end their protest camps. It is to be noted that VBMP has been protesting for 900 days in Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and other cities of Balochistan for safe recovery of illegally detained Baloch activists. Few days back the VBMP’s protest camp outside Quetta Press Club was set alight due which pictures of abducted Baloch and other belongings of protesters were burnt.
The BHRO said that such tactics were being used to suppress the voice of the families of abducted and extra-judicially killed Baloch activists. “The state security agencies are now trying to harm the families of enforced-disappeared persons, Baloch journalists and member of Human Rights Organisations in an effort to stop them from going to affected areas of Balochistan to collect a complete data of enforced-disappeared Baloch persons.
The BHRO spokesperson further said that they were pleased that the UN has finally decided to send a team to Blochistan but if this team’s visit was limited to government offices in Islamabad and Quetta, it would be tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of grieved Baloch families. The spokesperson said the UN team should visit different areas of Balochistan and meet with the families of disappeared and extra judicially killed Baloch.
The BHRO announced that there will be protest demonstrations in Quetta and Karachi on arrival of UN team. “These protests, however, are not against the arrival of UN team in Quetta and Karachi but it is to make our voice heard and let the visiting team know that Baloch have high expectations of this team”, explained the spokesperson.
The Baloch Human Rights Organisation has appealed Journalists, teacher unions, Student Organisations, labor unions, political and social activists, Human Rights Organisations and people from all spheres of life to join their protests to show express solidarity with the families of extra-judicially killed and illegal detained Baloch persons.
