Quetta :

A delegation of Baloch Students Organization - Azad met the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances on Sunday here in Quetta, Balochistan. The Delegation told the WGEID that the real problem the Baloch nation was facing is the occupation their once sovereign country. The BSO representative added that the solution Balochistan issue rested in the restoration of Baloch national state.

The BSO-Azad urged the UN to deploy peacekeeping forces on urgent basis in Balochistan as it did in Kosovo.

The Delegation gave a detailed briefing to the WGEID and also presented evidences in form of videos and documents.

The delegation told the WGEID that "Baloch nation is struggling for its rights and the independence and to counter the much popular struggle of Baloch nation the Pakistani Army is involved in brutalities like abductions and ‘kill and dump’ against civilians."

"We know the mandate of WGEID is limited but the UN and the International Community should realize that the grave problem of missing persons and other human rights violations cannot be solved until the real issue is taken into account. The sole solution of this dilemma lays only in reinstatement of Baloch national state that is currently under Pakistani occupation," clarified the delegation to WGEID.

WGEID was told that more than 14000 Baloch have gone missing whereas thousands have been forced to abandon their native villages in search of refuge from military operation in Balochistan.

WGEID expressed its concern on the conditions of Human Rights in Balochistan and stated that the sole objective of the working group is to present the true facts and to uncover the brutalities. "Taking into view the unabated and extreme brutalities it is expected that UN would send more such groups to investigate the problem in region," the WGEID told the delegation.
