The Baloch Human Rights Organisation (BHRO) organised has held a protest demonstration outside Karachi Press to condemn the murder of Noor Ahmad Qambarani and other human rights violations in Balochistan.
A large number of Baloch men, women and children participants of the protest were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against security forces atrocities against Baloch people and Baloch genocide.
Addressing the demonstrators the BHRO representatives said that Pakistan’s security agencies have murdered a close confidant of Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri on 30 June in Quetta’s satellite town area. “The murder of Noor Ahmad Baloch is the continuation of state genocidal policies under which Baloch students, teachers, intellectuals, doctors, political activists and their family members are being killed”, the speakers added that previously also ideological friends and family members of Baloch political leaders have been targeted and killed under custody by state forces.
They charged that along with recovery of mutilated bodies incidents of target killing were increasing rapidly in Balochistan. Earlier the sister and niece of Baloch leader Brahumdagh Bugti, Journalist Razzag Gul, Dr Rahim Bakhsh Baloch, teacher Nazir Marri and several others were target killed.
Meanwhile, the BHRO members in Quetta, capital of Balochistan, has also held a protest demonstration against target killing and abductions of Baloch activists.
Talking to Balochwarna news a BHRO representative said that, “The state security forces in a pre-planned and systematic manner are targeting well-educated Baloch leaders and activists in Balochistan. The human rights situations in Balochistan are increasingly getting worse day by day. Military operations, forced-disappearances, discovery of mutilated bodies and incidents of target killing are on rise.”
She further added that state security agencies do not follow rule of law in Balochistan that is why the judiciary and human rights organisations have directly held security forces and state intelligence agencies responsible for gross human rights violations. However, despite the grave concern of judiciary and courts the state security agencies are continually committing Baloch genocide.
The BHRO leaders have appealed the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and all civilised and democratic countries to take practical measures and force Pakistan to respect international laws so that the region can be saved from a human tragedy.
