Tortured and bullet-ridden bodies of two persons were found from Gwadar and Dasht areas of Balochistan, on Friday. The bodies were found at time when the UN has decided to send a visiting team to Pakistan and Balochistan next month.
According to details in the first incident, local authorities found a body dumped in Nigor area of Gwadar district of Balochistan and moved it to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The victim had been identified as Samad Bilal, who had been abducted along with Razzaq Paalari, Jalil Murad and Ramzan Yaqoob on 17 August 2012 [according to some sources he was abducted on 23 August] from Peshokan area of Gawadar.
On Friday body of Samad Bilal has been found but the other two youth are still in the custody of Pakistani security forces. Their families have expressed grave concern that if urgent actions to save their lives are not taken, the Pakistan forces will kill and dump them like Samad and hundreds of other abducted Baloch.
In the second incident, police found a body from the Dasht area in the outskirts of Quetta. The identity of the victims could not be ascertained immediately.
Meanwhile United Nations has decided to send a delegation to Pakistan for reviewing the situation in Balochistan. A letter has been sent to foreign office in this regard.
A seven-member UN delegation would visit Pakistan from September 10 to 20 to review the situation in Balochistan and several areas in Pakistan.
The UN delegation would visit Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad to get first-hand information about the human rights violations in the country, the sources further said.
The delegation will hold meetings with the prime minister, interior minister, and minister for religious affairs, attorney general and other officials concerned of all provinces.
Talking to Balochwarna News the Vice Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Qadeer Baloch said that it would be a waste of time for UN delegation to visit Pakistan and Balochistan unless they meet with the families of abducted and extra-judicially killed Baloch activists. He further said “The UN must carry out independent observation and hold direct meetings with victims’ families. Our Organisation, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, is ready to assist the UN team in this regard if they require any help.”
