|Baloch National Voice (BNV) welcomed the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearance adding that they expect the United Nations’ team not to come under any pressure of Pakistan and will visit Balochistan specially Kohistan Marri, Dera Bugti, Bolan, Khuzdar, New Kahan and all other remote regions to directly meet with people who have been facing the atrocities of Pakistan Intelligence agencies to record their ordeals. |
Pro-independence Baloch Political Organisation the Baloch National Voice further said it suspected that Pakistan through its cunningness and wittingly misleading tactics will try to provide wrong information to the independent and impartial WGEID team about Balochistan.
BNV said that the Baloch Nation has high expectations of the UN team that instead of believing on Pakistan’s fabricated reports, they will meet the affected Baloch who have been victimized by the state security agencies in past many years. “The team should thoroughly observe and analyze Balochistan situation. We also hope during visit and compiling their report the UN team will not overlook the bitter fact that Pakistan is committing Baloch genocide.”
BNV assured that Baloch nation will fully cooperate with the UN team and they will be warmly welcomed everywhere in Balochistan.
The Baloch National Voice said it will, if have get an opportunity, provide UN team with evidence including video clips, pictures of tortured bodies and a list Enforced-disappeared and extra-judicially killed Baloch activists. They said they will also present pictures of women and children killed in military operation in Kohistan Marri and other areas of Balochistan. They said Pakistan Air Force carpet bombed villages and used chemical weapons against civilian population due to which several people died and their livestock and houses were destroyed. “The Pakistani force set standing crops on fire and plundered village looted all valuables during their search operations.”
They also said several Baloch lawyers, students and intellectuals and other highly educated people of Baloch society have been killed in cold blood in the custody of security agencies.
“Prohibiting the International Human Rights Organisation from helping Baloch IDPs is part of a bigger conspiracy of the state against Baloch people”, the BNV said.
BNV said it wanted to make it clear to the UN team that Pakistani military, Intelligence Agencies, Parliament and the Judiciary are equally responsible for Baloch genocide. “Even the Pakistani media is silent spectator and silent partner of the state in Baloch genocide because they completely ignored the issue of Enforced Disappearances and Kill and Dump policy of state in Balochistan.” BNV said the refusal of chief justice of Pakistan and senate members to meet the UN proves the fact that Balochistan’s situation is very serious and if the UN Working Group visits Balochistan and witness the brutalities – they might recommend sending in International Peace Keeping forces. “Baloch have been asking for International intervention since beginning (illegal occupation of Balochistan).
The statement read: “The BNV hopes the UN Work Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances will play their role to find a practical and permanent solution to Balochistan issue and stop the Baloch genocide.”
