
Protest against Gidar operation, UN appealed intervene to stop state atrocities: BHRO

| The Baloch Human Rights Organisation held a protest against Pakistan military operation in Gidar area of Soorab, outside Karachi Press Club on Thursday.
According to details a large number of Baloch women and children held a protest demonstration in front of Karachi Press Club and demanded an immediate end to ongoing military operations in Balochistan. The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against Pakistan security forces operation in Gidar area of Soorab in Balochistan. They also chanted slogans against Pakistani security forces and the ongoing human rights violations.
It is to be noted that Pakistan Para-Military forces carried out an indiscriminate operation in Alamzai village in Gidar region of Soorab town in Balochistan. At least two women and a child were killed and several wounded. Many houses were also damaged due the bombardment and there was reportedly a sense of terror and harassment among the resident of the effect area and surrounding regions.
Addressing the protester and media BHRO leaders said that state security forces have been committing gross human rights violations in Balochistan from past many years. Many people have been killed in wanton bombardments. They said that target killings and enforced-disappearances are also on rise unabated. The BRO leaders said military operations and targeting of civilian populace have been the daily routine of the Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. They requested the UN and other International Human Rights Organisations to take notice of the plight of Baloch people. They also appealed the UN to take immediate notice of the ongoing human tragedies in Balochistan and take action against such state atrocities.
