| An employee of a private oil and gas exploration company has been wounded in Sohan area of Barkhan district as unidentified men fired rockets on the company’s camp on Monday evening.
According to local sources some thirteen rockets were fired from the surrounding mountain, which landed near the camp and exploded with big bangs. No major damage to the camp was reported except injuring one of the company’s workers.
The identity of the worker could not be ascertained.
The attacker has fled the after the security forces open fire on them in retaliation. Local authorities were further investigating the matter. It is worth mentioning here that eight Pakistani workers of a Greek company were kidnapped on Sunday Morning form Marwaar area of Balochistan.
According to BBC Urdu the workers were seized when they were about to enter a coalmine. Levies sources had said that unidentified armed men put the workers in two Pickups and quickly drove off toward undisclosed locations.
Initially, a previously unheard organisation Baloch Waja Liberation Army (BWA) had accepted the responsibility for kidnappings. However, Meerak Baloch, a spokesperson of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has informed News Agencies on Monday that fighters from his organisation have taken into custody the workers of Greek Company working under PMDC. He said Baloch fighters had time and again warned this company to stop its coal extraction work in Balochistan but it did not heed to the warnings.
He also said that there was no such organisation in the name of Waja Liberation Army in Balochistan and that it was just a fake name made by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. “In reality this group does not exist”, Mr Baloch added.
It is to be noted that the Baloch resistance organisations, struggling for the independence of Balochistan, have always warned that the natural resources in Balochistan were the Baloch national wealth. They maintained that only people of Balochistan have the first and foremost rights to benefit from these resources and foreigners will not be allowed work without the consent of Baloch nation.
