Afghan President in no hurry to form new Cabinet
KABUL, Nov 07 (NNI): Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Friday said he was in no hurry to form his Cabinet, calling his recent visits to China and Saudi Arabia as successful.
Ahmadzai was addressing a gathering of religious leaders, acting ministers, lawmakers, tribal elders and influential figures at the Presidential Palace after Friday’s prayers.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said the president briefed the gathering about his visits to China and Saudi Arabia and said the visits had gone well and would benefit the Afghans.
Ahmadzai said the new government was in search of partners who could help assist it in specific areas in order to bring about fundamental changes to the lives of Afghans.
He said religious leaders for supporting the national unity government, saying their cooperation held key to achieving peace in the country.
About the Cabinet formation, the president said the Council of Ministers should not be formed in hurry but with utmost care and wisdom.
