23 militants killed during operations led by Afghan army
KABUL (NNI): At least 23 militants were killed following military operations led by Afghan National Army (ANA) forces, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) said.
A statement released by MoD said the operations were conducted in the past 48 hours in three different provinces of the country.
The statement further added that a number of militants were also injured and various types of weapon, ammunition and explosives, including 28 rouds of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) were seized during the operations.
MoD also added that seven clearing operations are still being conducted in five different provinces.
According to MoD, at least three Afghan Natioal Army (ANA) soldiers were also maryred following Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion and direct militants fire.
The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, and Nimruz provinces, which also led to the injury of two insurgents and the arrest of one other.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far
