Daily Tawar once again faces shut down threats
A Balochistan based Newspaper ‘Daily Tawar’ has announced on Sunday that Pakistani intelligence agencies have threatened the printing Press to stop producing the newspaper.
According to the administration of Daily Tawar, in past eleven years the paper has faced many difficulties at the hand of state [Pakistan] forces and pro-Pakistan Baloch parliamentarian parties.
The Editor of Daily Tawar received death threats on several occasions and the office of Tawar was raided and its copies were burnt but Daily Tawar continued its work and followed ethics of journalism to reports facts about Balochistan situation.
Daily Tawar has been a real voice for the people of Balochistan in exposing the state’s atrocities against Baloch people. As a result many reporters of Tawar have been abducted and killed in custody.
Recently once again the ‘Hidden characters’ [intelligence agencies] have threatened the Press Office which was printing Daily Tawar to stop the publication or their office will also be attacked and burned to ashes like the office of Tawar in Karachi.
The Newspaper’s administration said that amidst all these threats and difficulties Daily Tawar will strive to continue its work and to serve the people of Balochistan.
