Baloch Martyrs’ day observed in United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden and South Korea
LONDON, SWEDEN: Baloch Diaspora has organised events to commemorate the Baloch Martyrs Day in different cities of world on Thursday 13 November.
According to details event were organised in Glasgow and London cities of United Kingdom, Vancouver city of Canada, Boras City of Sweden and Pusan area of North Korea.
In Boras, Sweden, the Baloch activists booked a place in Central Library for the entire day where several people visited the Baloch stall to express their solidarity with Baloch people and families of Baloch martyrs.
In Pusan, South Korea, the Baloch activists organised a protest demonstration outside Pusan main station to commemorate the martyrs day. The activists displayed pictures of victims of state terrorism, map of Balochistan and picture of enforced-disappeared persons. They also distributed leaflets as part of their awareness programme.
In Glasgow, Scotland, the Baloch activists lit candles in memory of Baloch martyrs and briefed local journalists and PMs about the situation in Balochistan and Pakistani state atrocities against Baloch people.
In London, United Kingdom, the Baloch Community London organised a meeting to pay tributes to Baloch martyrs of liberation struggle. The speakers at London event paid glowing tributes to Baloch fallen heroes for their sacrifices and struggle.
Dr Mustaf Baloch chaired the meeting and speakers included Juma, a Kurdish activist from Northern Kurdistan, Mehrab Sarju Baloch, Abdullah Baloch and Shabir Baloch.
Dr Mustafa Baloch in his speech explained about the importance and history of Baloch martyrs day. He said in 1839 when the British forces attacked Balochistan, Mir Mehrab Khan instead of surrendering before the British army opted to resist and sacrificed his life. “Hence every year Baloch gather on this day to pay their respects to those Baloch who paid the ultimate price of their lives while protecting Balochistan,” He added.
Kurdish activist, Juma, expressed his solidarity with the Baloch people on Martyrs day and said that the Kurdish community supports the Baloch struggle for their freedom. He said Kurds are going through difficult times because on one hand oppressive states such as Turkey, Iran and Syria are against them on the other hand the ISI terrorist have started massacring them in Kobane and other areas.
He said the Baloch and Kurd should unite and help each other at these difficult times. He said if Kurdistan gains its independence that will certainly benefit the Baloch as well.
Mehrab Sarju also paid tributes to Baloch martyrs. He said: “we remember them for their great sacrifices and struggle for our future. We renew our commitment to Baloch freedom.”
He also said Baloch activists should avoid misusing the social media because it was damaging the Baloch cause and widening the communication gap between pro-freedom leaders.
Abdulla Baloch said that Martyrs of liberation have sacrificed their lives for freedom of Balochistan and they were the real heroes of Balochistan. He said: “We expressed our support and solidarity to those who are sacrificed their lives for independence of Balochistan.”
Shabir Baloch read the message of Baloch national leader Hyrbyair Marri in which he said that Baloch should unite for greater interest Balochistan. He said Baloch people are not struggling to create an undemocratic and theocratic state like Pakistan and Iran in Balochistan. “We want is a Balochistan where all its citizen will be treated equally and under one law.”
Hyrbyair Marri’s message further read that: On this day we reiterate our pledge that we will continue to strive for the freedom until we regain our sovereign homeland.” (The full message of Mr Marri will be posted later on Balochwarna News.)
Meanwhile the Baloch activists in Vancouver city of Canada also held a memorial gathering to pay their respects to Baloch martyrs. Aziz Baloch organised the event and other Baloch and Kurdish activists also took part in the gathering to express their solidarity with families of Baloch martyrs.
