30 militants killed in fresh operations in Afghanistan: MoI
KABUL,(NNI): About 30 Taliban militants have been killed in fresh military operations across Afghanistan, said the country’s Interior Ministry on Sunday morning.
“Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) carried out operations to clean some areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan. The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Baghlan, Farah and Helmand provinces. As a result 30 armed Taliban members were killed, three wounded and one was arrested by the ANSF,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ANSF also discovered and confiscated ammunition, 10 motorcycles and eight vehicles during the above operations, according to the statement.
The security forces also recovered and defused seven roadside bombs planted by the militants, the statement said, without adding if there were any casualties on the side of the security forces.
The Taliban insurgent group has yet to make comments.
The Taliban-led violence continues in Afghanistan. Security forces have pressed on to clear the militants in restive provinces. The Taliban responds by bombing and armed attacks.
