02 suicide bombers beaten to death by Sar-e-Pul residents
KABUL, Jan 07 (NNI): At least two suicide bombers were beaten to death by residents of northern Sar-e-Pul provinc of Afghanistan.
According to the local government officials, the two would-be suicide bombers were killed in Balkhab district.
The provincial police spokesman Kazim Kanhan said the suicide bombers were identified by the local residents and were beaten to death before they manage to carry out coordinated attack.
Kanhan further added another would-be suicide bomber was also arrested by the local residents.
According to Kanhan, the group was looking to attack the district governmetn compound on Tuesday.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
Sar-e-Pul is among the relatively volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are actively operating in a number of its districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities
