Balochistan: 27 March marked as occupation day
Baloch nation has express their anger in a Balochistan-wide strike on Friday against occupation of their sovereign state by Pakistan on 27, March, 1948.
The Baloch Salvation Front and Baloch National Front had given the call for wheel jam and shutter down protest and had appeal the Baloch nation, Transport unions and business community to cooperate to make the strike successful.
The government and public building remained close and traffic was thin on the road on Friday. The transport companies and trade unionists heeded to the call of pro-freedom Baloch parties and closed their businesses voluntarily.
In a statement issued to Dwan.com the Baloch political parties said that Kalat state had been merged with Pakistan on March 27, 1948 in violation of the international law.
The strike was observed in most major towns and cities of Balochistan including Nushki, Mastung, Kalat, Mongchar, Washuk, Hub, Panjgur, Makran coastal belt, Kharan, Mach, and Baloch populated areas in Quetta, Zehri, Wadh, Khuzdar and several other regions.
Baloch nation has been observing 27 March as ‘Black Day’ since the occupation of Balochistan in 1948 and each year they renew their pledge to continue the struggle for liberation and urge the international community including United Nations to support the Baloch freedom movement.
Their calls for support so far have fallen on deaf ears as Pakistan and Iran continue to commit crimes against humanity in occupied Balochistan and the world watches in silence.
Despite the silence of civilised world on ‘slow motion’ genocide of Baloch people, the BSF and BNF vowed to continue the liberation struggle and their advocacy against human rights violations in Balochistan.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani state continues its military actions, enforced-disappearance of Baloch activists and the kill and dump policy across Balochistan.
Since the lifting of moratorium on death penalty and the announcement of National Action Plan, Pakistan forces have intensified their brutalities against Baloch people.
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons – a representative organisation of the families of enforced-disappeared Baloch – say that Pakistan forces have abducted more than 18,000 Baloch since the start of new phase military operations against Baloch people in early 2000. They VBMP puts number of victims of state’s kill and dump policy over 1600.
