Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
Why is the World Silent Over Massacre of Children in Baluchistan
The tragic incident of the Syrian boy Alan Kurdi has raised several eye brows and heart around the world. All hail to the little kid, that saved several other lives of children around the world. However, in another part of the world, the rights of children continue to be violated brazenly with the army indulging in deliberate killings. How many of those who shared the tragic picture of Alan Kurdi know about the fate of a 10 year old child Chakhar Baluch. In January 2014, the tortured and bullet-riddled body of a 10-year-old was been found in Turbat district of Baluchistan. He was missing from one week, according to the local police. The story of Chokhar Baluch is indeed as tragic and horrifying as that of Alan Kurdi. However, the sordid plight of such children and crimes committed on them by the Pakistani army does not arouse enough international condemnation.
Since independence from India, Pakistan’s government has never paid attention to the adversities of Baluchistan and only created hurdles for them. The children of Baluchistan in Pakistan are ruthlessly butchered at the hands of Pakistan’s Army. Like Alan Kurdi, each day many innocent children lose their lives and no one is there to save them. Unfortunately, images of Baluchistani kids being killed for being a Baluch are not being shown in world media.
In the contemporary age where world community is on its way to build more firm laws in regard of humanity and human rights, so that freedom of living, want and expression is given to the people of the globe which could guarantee a prosper and fearless world just to develop for the sake of mankind’s wellbeing. On contrary, there is a member of world community so called Pakistan who’s Army, paramilitary forces and death squad (under ISI umbrella) are rampant in kill and dump of Baluch youth and children in Baluchistan. In Pakistan, the plight of the Baluch people is a sordid one. Pakistani security agencies are involved in grave human rights violations and the abduction of activists in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province. The secret agencies of Pakistani army, which is ruling the country for the last 60 years one way or the other, can pick a Bluch at any time with impunity. They do not care whether this Bluch is 80 years old or a 12 years teenager. In the list of the disappeared Bluch, many victims have included women and children also. They could be taken at any time, day or night. Their captors may be in uniform or civilian clothes. They forcibly take them away, giving no reason, producing no warrant.
Instances of Pakistani army killing innocent women and children in Baluchistan are numerous, but somehow they fail to garner the wrath of the international community and human rights activists. For example, in May 2014 Pakistani military conducted offensives in mountainous regions of Mashky on Monday and claimed to have killed 10 ‘militants’ but local sources said that the killed persons were civilian which included women and children. Due to intense bombing, seven women and six children were severely wounded, while the Pakistani army forcefully abducted many boys under the age of 15 years. This is just one of many instances of how the Pakistani army arbitrarily kills the innocent women and children under the garb of maintain state security.
There have been numerous reports documented by Baluch human rights group as to how state Forces invade homes, loot valuables, and subjected the resident including innocent children to acts of torture. Many mass graves have been found where Baluchi people, mainly kids, have been buried alive.
Not only this, the army in collusion with the radical militant groups is also denying the Baluch children of their basic rights. Recent attacks and terror threats against schools promoting modern education in Baluchistan have increased substantially. Countless public and private schools throughout Baluchistan have been destroyed or forced to close as result of the state endorsed campaign to deprive the Baluch youth of meaningful education. Teachers and students are regularly threatened, abducted and assassinated. These violence perpetrating militant groups have full support of the Pakistani Frontier Corps, ISI and Army.
If only people in the world could also look at the plight of the Baluchi children being massacred by Pakistani Army!
