Pakistan Supreme Court discharged names of missing persons from Balochistan: Nasrullah
QUETTA: The Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Nasrullah Baloch, said on Tuesday that Pakistan Supreme Court has discharged the case of 197 disappeared persons from Balochistan.
At a press conference in Quetta Press Club Mr Baloch said that the Supreme Court discharged the cases of 197 missing person from Balochistan on the instructions of Chief Secretary of Balochistan. He also said that the total number of cases of missing persons in Pakistan is more than 27 thousand.
He said that relatives, brothers, sisters, fathers, husbands and sons of enforced disappeared persons were comforted and told that their loved one would soon be discovered but suddenly the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued an order and discharged the cases 197 cases of missing person from Balochistan.
“All these cases were being heard at Supreme Court which have now been dismissed, and the petitioners, relatives of disappeared persons, have been told to approach the Balochistan High Court in this regard,” Mr Baloch said.
He announced that the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and other humanitarian organisations will protest in front of Quetta Press Club on 10 December against the decision of the Supreme Court.
Expressing his disappointing at Supreme Court’s decision Nasrullah Baloch said, “We had pinned our hopes and had lots of expectation from Supreme Court that it will play its due role to discover the disappeared person from Balochistan and Pakistan. But with a single stroke of pen the SC has vanished turned our hopes to nightmares.
“We (VBMP) will continue and intensify its protest and meetings against enforced-disappearances until all our disappeared people a safely discovered.”
