Balochistan: BLA accepts responsibility of attack on Pakistani Coastguards in Jiwani
GAWADAR: At least Two Pakistan Coastguards officials were killed and three wounded in a roadside blast in Kuntani region of Jiwani near Gawadar on Saturday.
According to details a single cabin vehicle guarding a Pakistan Coastguards water tanker hit an explosive device planted on a roadside in the Kuntani area of Jiwani, when they were supplying water for the Panwaan check post.
Local authorities told newsmen, “As a result, two Coastguards officials were killed on the spot and three have been seriously wounded.”
The Levis sources further reported that, “The single-cabin vehicle was destroyed in the blast and the tanker was damaged.”
The killed officials were identified as Hawaldar Ameer Abdullah and Kishwar Hussain, and the injured as Muhammad Alam, Sohail Ahmed and Muhammad Tariq.
The injured officials with life-threatening wounds were reportedly referred to Karachi for specialised treatment.
Meanwhile Meerak Baloch, a spokesperson of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), informed media sources that fighters from the BLA targeted the vehicles of Pakistani officials in Jiwani Balochistan.
He claimed that at least five Coastguards were killed and three have been wounded in the remote controlled blasts on Sunday.
The Meerak Baloch told NNI that BLA will not allow China-Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC in any condition to succeed in Gawadar.
He said, “Gawadar is the property of Baloch nation and Balochistan in a situation of war at present. That’s why we will not allow any country or company for investment in Balochistan. We will continue to defend our homeland until Balochistan regains its independence.
“We have warned foreign companies time and again that BLA will not allow any investment that takes place in collaboration with Pakistani state.”
He added that the Baloch nation stands firmly to defend their country that’s why China as a nation should avoid from investing in Balochistan.
