Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Balochistan: Four bodies brought to a local hospital as Pakistani military offensives near Sibbi continue
QUETTA: Pakistan military have been carrying offensives in several areas near Sibbi and Bolan Balochistan since the beginning of year 2016. Many regions including Sangaan, Jaladi, Peer Ismael and other adjoining areas have remained under military siege from past two months.
On March, 9 the Pakistan forces told media person that two of their soldiers died and six members of a pro-liberation organisation, the Baloch Liberation Army, also lost their lives in a gun battle between Pakistani forces and Baloch fighters.
The report of Pakistan paramilitary FC was also confirmed by the spokesperson of Balochistan government Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.
However, independent sources told Balochwarna News that military has been carrying out attacks against civilian populations where they have killed several unarmed people including women and children.
Hundreds of people, among them women and children, have been abducted and disappeared from Bolan and Sibbi districts in past two months.
There are also reports of looting livestock of nomads and burning of standing crops of poor peasants.
The inhabitants also complained that Pakistani forces stole the jewellery of Baloch women, cash and other precious belongings of people during their house-to-house search operations.
“It is a collective punishment against us and the only reason that Pakistan military keeps targeting us is that we are Baloch.
“The FC and army personnel act more like burglars and thieves than soldiers because the barge into houses and take away anything they find useful,” a local source told Balochwarna News on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile Pakistani forces brought four dead bodies to a hospital in Sibbi who are thought to be victims of 9 March, 2016 military attacks. The identity of the victims could not be confirmed immediately.
The siege of several regions continues which has made it difficult for media persons to report the ground situation and exact number of casualties.
