Baloch of Karachi should not fall prey of Pakistan’s deception: Hyrbyair Marri
LONDON: Baloch pro-freedom leader Hyrbyair Marri in a statement from London said on Saturday that Baloch people of Karachi should not play in the hands of the Pakistani state and parties like Pakistan Peoples Party.
He said the Peoples Party and Pakistani politicians have deprived the Baloch of education, health facilities and support and pushed them toward drug addiction and gang war. “Baloch have been forced into gang war under the instructions from Pakistan army so that they’re pitted against educated and pro-freedom patriot Baloch to suppress the voice for Baloch national freedom,” he added.
Hyrbyair Marri said Baloch are victims of Pakistani state barbarism from past 68 years and the uncivilised Pakistani forces have been using fighter jets against Baloch nation on large scale. Every nook and corner of Balochistan is suffering from Pakistani barbarism and the Baloch of Karachi are also not an exception.
He said when the British colonisers occupied Balochistan, the Baloch people of Karachi offered tough resistance, Chakar Notak was hanged in Karachi for defending Baloch mother land – Balochistan.
Hyrbyair Marri said that Pakistani media has been tasked to distorts the Baloch history the and the truth about Baloch people as Karachi’s native inhabitants and portrays them as uncivilised with help of criminal gangs created by Pakistani state intelligence agencies. “The cemetery and tombs of Chaukandi in Karachi reflect the history of development, progressiveness, civilisation of Baloch of Karachi. It is not easy to distort such a self-evident history,” he added.
He further said that during their election campaigns the PPP has committed the crime of changing Baloch ethics and values for sake of votes and petty gains, however, the real goal for the Baloch of Karachi should be the path of Saba Dashtyari, Sattar Baloch, Shafi Baloch and several others who sacrificed their lives for freedom of Balochistan and upholding Baloch values. These Baloch [martyrs] from Karachi have become a symbol of genuine Baloch patriotism and struggle for independence, who stood against Pakistan’s colonial rule over Balochistan till their last breath and promoted the cause of national independence.
Hyrbyair Marri said that PPP government initiated the notorious ‘kill and dump policy’ of innocent Baloch prisoners. Under this policy, Baloch were targeted and killed, and their mutilated dead bodies were dumped in different areas of Karachi and Balochistan. In fact, since then the kill and dump policy has never stopped and it is still ongoing with full intensity.
He said, “Now Pakistan has started abducting Baloch women and children from different areas of Balochistan. It is a gross violation of the Baloch code of honour. Recently, the Pakistani military and other forces have abducted women and children from Bolan and Dera Bugti districts of Balochistan.
“If the Baloch do not stand against excesses of occupying Pakistani forces now, then the Baloch honour and sanctity cannot be saved.”
The Baloch leader urged that Karachi’s Baloch should not fall prey Pakistan Peoples Party’s deception and rather they should join the caravan of national cause from, national identity and independence. “Baloch should spend their energy for Baloch national struggle instead of strengthening the PPP because the victory of Baloch struggle is the victory of Baloch nation,” he added.
The Pakistan Peoples Party, whose pioneer Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, has ordered the killing of thousands of Baloch during military attacks in 1973-1978 in Balochistan cannot be the sympathiser of Baloch nation.
He said, “The Baloch of Karachi are treated as the third-grade citizen. Therefore, it is imperative upon the Baloch people of Karachi to understand the reality and get out of the influence of PPP and become part of wider Baloch national struggle so that Baloch can rid themselves of poverty, illiteracy and lethal diseases that have been bestowed to Baloch by occupier [Pakistan] and preserve our national identity.”
