Pakistan supports religious extremism to blackmail international community: Hyrbyair Marri

LONDON:  The pro-freedom Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri has termed the statement of the spokesman of the dummy government of occupying Pakistani state in occupied Balochistan about enforced disappearances and kill and dump policy as prefabricated and said that Pakistan has intensified the ongoing dirty act of Baloch genocide over last decades.

In the past 68 years, thousands of Baloch including women, children and elderly have been killed in military offensives and air strikes by Pakistani forces in Balochistan.

Since 2009, Pakistan army has been dumping the mutilated dead bodies of Baloch missing persons in Balochistan and this inhuman act against humanity is still is continuing. Pakistan army, paramilitary, FC and intelligence service disappear innocent Baloch on regular basis and subject them to inhuman torture in custody and dump their mutilated bodies on roadsides. Currently, thousands of Baloch are facing torture and brutalities in the illegal secret detention centers of Pakistan army.

The Baloch leader said that several times Pakistan itself has admitted dumping a thousand mutilated bodies but the numbers of mutilated corpses found across Balochistan are far higher than what the Pakistani army and government officials admit.  Human Rights organizations in Balochistan say that around 5000 mutilated dead bodies of disappeared Baloch have been discovered, many of these bodies were unrecognizable due to disfigurement.

Additionally, Pakistani forces have publicly targeted killed hundreds of Baloch who had sympathy with the national struggle in Khuzdar area of Balochistan alone. Two mass graves were also discovered in Khuzdar containing more than a hundred dead bodies but only three of the bodies were identified as Mohammad Naseer, Mohammad Omar and Qadir Bakhsh. A few hours after the discovery of mass graves by the locals, the army cordoned off and sealed the area and destroyed all evidence of the barbaric crimes of Pakistan army in Balochistan.

Hyrbyair Marri said that Aftab Ahmad Sherpao, the then interior minister of Pakistan during general Musharraf era had admitted in a press briefing in 2005 that around 4000 Baloch were in the custody of Pakistani intelligence agencies; whereas, in 2009 Rehman Malik another Pakistani minister threatened to use excessive force against Baloch people.

In April 2009, Pakistani forces attacked a lawyer’s office in Turbat Balochistan and abducted Ghulam Mohammad Baloch along with his friends Sher Mohammad Baloch and Lala Munir Baloch. After few days mutilated dead bodies of Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad and his friends were discovered in Murgaab area of Turbat Balochistan. After that, Pakistan army and Frontier Corps (FC) started the notorious kill and dump policy across Balochistan and this notorious policy against Baloch youth is still continued to date.

In 2010, Pakistan Army has forced disappearance Baloch youth Nasir Dagarzai from Panjgur Balochistan under the same policy, he was tortured for three days and his body was thrown in a desolated area along with his other friends. Pakistani forces thought that they had killed all of them but Nasir survived miraculously. Mr. Dagarzai later narrated his ordeal to media with graphic details but later he was re-abducted again in 2011 on his way to Quetta to see his doctor and then he was killed in custody.

Similarly, hundreds of Baloch youth, including student leader Chakar Qambar, were abducted on their way to universities, from their homes and markets and later their dead bodies were found in remote and desolated areas hundreds of miles away in Karachi, Quetta, Hub, Kech, Turbat, and other different regions of Balochistan. Among these hundreds of victims include Younas Baloch and Jalil Reki Baloch whose bodies were thrown from high altitude helicopters.

“The creation of Pakistan was based on lies and it continues to exist on lies and double standards that is why the subsequent Pakistani governments depended on lies to mislead the world from truth and reality,” Hyrbyair Marri said.

In 2011, Rehman Malik confessed about the discovery of mutilated dead bodies in Balochistan and claimed that India and its intelligence agencies were involved in the dumping of the dead bodies to malign Pakistan. Such baseless claims of Pakistani officials are nothing but cruel jokes and prefabricated lies to mislead United Nations and other international Human Rights groups about Baloch human rights issues. “These claims and lies are a clear challenge to the authority of the UN and International Community,” Mr. Marri added.

“On the one hand, Pakistan is using religion for terrorism purpose and political gains and shades crocodile tears about Kashmiri, Rohingya, and Palestinian Muslims but on the other, it is involved in barbaric atrocities against Muslims. A clear example of Pakistan’s brutalities against Muslims is 1971 genocide of Bengali Muslims by its Punjabi army and the ongoing massacre of Baloch people in occupied Balochistan is self-evident. In addition to Baloch genocide, Pakistan has also been continuously involved in the bloodbath in Afghanistan from 1980 till today.

The Baloch leader said, “Pakistan blackmails the world in the name of terrorism but at the same time trains the religious terrorists and exports them to neighboring countries and Europe. On the one hand, it gets financial support from Europe and America against terrorism, but on the other, it uses these funds to strengthen the terrorist groups. It also uses these funds to sustain and prolong its illegal occupation of Balochistan.”
