Balochistan: Four Baloch Citizens, Including a Woman, Arrested in Iranian Military Raid in Taftan
Hyrbyair Marri applauds US sanctions against Iran
LONDON: Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri has applauded the U.S. decision to cancel ‘the deal with the devil’ and reinstate the sanctions against the Iranian regime.
He said, ‘the Iranian theocratic state is responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of people in Balochistan, Kurdistan, Al-Ahwaz and South Azerbaijan. It also interfered and incited war via proxies in Syria, Yemen, and Iraq. Iran has executed thousands of innocent people and there are 120 Baloch prisoners currently on death row in Zahedan central prison only.’
Addressing the European nations Mr Marri said, ‘Instead of protecting the Iranian religious regime, European countries should learn from recent assassination attempts on their soil against dissidents. In June, the French discovered a plot by Iranian intelligence to kill opposition groups in Paris. In July, an Iranian diplomat was arrested in connection with the French assassination plot. In September, Swedish security forces arrested a Norwegian man of Iranian origin who planned to assassinate an Arab leader in Denmark.
‘The European nations should think that if Iran is able to carry out assassination plot attacks against its opposition groups in European capitals then what could the condition of nations under Iran’s occupation and oppression be? Iran’s intelligence services, IRGC and Basij forces have turned Balochistan into a large concentration camp by erecting a 700 kilometres wall on Balochistan border.’
According to Amnesty International from 2004-2009, the Iranian regime has executed 1481 people out of a total population of 75 million. In the same period Balochistan Human Rights Activists Association reported that Iran executed 800 Baloch. This figure shows that 55% of people killed by the Islamic regime during these five years have been from Balochistan.
He said, ‘The US sanctions are also a lesson for those Baloch who still have expectations from Iran. It is the time for all Baloch from both sides of the artificial border to understand that Iran as an occupier and oppressive state would never support or tolerate any attempt by any Baloch group to establish a democratic and free state in the region.
‘The allies of Balochistan should comprehend the changing geopolitical scenario of the region, at the same time; it should be a wake-up call for those international friends of Balochistan who always wanted an armed twisted us to be silent on Iranian atrocities against the Baloch nation in the Iranian occupied Balochistan. The time has come that they should be realists regarding Iran and recalculate their geopolitical priorities – they should come to terms with the fact that Iran is neither their friend nor the friend of the Baloch people.’
