Enforced-disappearance sin Balochistan: Protests held in Germany and UK
LONDON: To highlight the incidents of enforced disappearances in the Balochistan, the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) held two protests in Germany and UK Saturday and Sunday.
A large number of activists under the banner of Baloch Republican Party joined the demonstration in Germany’s Chemnitz city to show their support for the struggles of the families of abducted Baloch activists in Balochistan.
Speaking to the news agency ANI, Jawad Baloch, the president of the BRP’s Germany unit said, “Today we Baloch people from all over Germany gathered here to protest against the enforced disappearances in Pakistan, especially in the province Balochistan, where thousands of Baloch activists and students are missing.”
“We are also here in solidarity with the relatives of the missing people, who are protesting in Quetta to release of their loved ones. We request the human rights organisations, the European Union, the country where we are living – Germany, to use their diplomatic relations with Pakistan to help release the missing Baloch people,” he added.
On Sunday the BRP held a protest in front of the official residence of the British Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street London. The central committee member and Europe Organiser of BRP Mr Mansoor Baloch said that human rights situation was worsening in Balochistan.
“Our mothers and sisters have come out in the Quetta Press Club in this cold weather for their abducted loved ones. Some of them have been abducted years back but their families are still kept unaware of their crimes.”
He further said that “There is no law in Balochistan, the State agencies do as they please. They abducted whoever they want, ask for ransom or kill and dump them. Thousands of Baloch people have been victimized by this practice of the state agencies.”
The Baloch Republican Party activists have appealed the human rights organisations and the United Nations to intervene in the case of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and act according to legal laws to bring back those who have been illegally abducted and detained for years.
