Balochistan: Pakistani forces abduct women and children from Dera Bugti: BRP
QUETTA: The central spokesmen Baloch Republican Party, Mr Sher Mohammad Bugti, in a statement condemned escalation of military offensives in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti and Kech districts.
He said that Pakistani forces have been carrying out offensives in different areas of Dera Bugti and Nasirabad from the past four days.
The BRP spokesperson said, ‘so far, seven people including women and children had been taken into custody.’
The abducted persons have been named as Turk Ali Bugti, his wife Naaz Khatoon, 9 yrs old son Ameeran Bugti, daughter Mah Gull Bugti, Jara Bugti and his wife Mozo Bugti and daughter Pazi Bugti.
Mr Bugti tweeted on Thursday, ‘From past four days Pakistan army have cordoned off the area of district Dera Bugti, [a] full-scale operation is continued on people livestock and cattle of local people have been destroyed. You can imagine the fear of children and women [present] in the area with limited resources.’
He said it was not the first time that the Pakistani forces have abducted Baloch women. In the past Baloch women were abducted from Awaran, Dera Bugti and Kohistan Marri regions of Balochistan.
He said Pakistani forces were repeating the history of Bangladesh in Balochistan by arresting and humiliating and assaulting Baloch women and children.
Earlier sources informed Balochwarna News that Pakistani grounds troops are backed by gunship helicopters and there were also reports of shelling in mountainous areas.
It is pertinent to mention that Baloch pro-freedom parties and human rights groups say that many of the abducted Baloch women and children are still in the custody of Pakistani forces.
The abduction of Baloch women and children and attacks against civilian populations in Balochistan are regarded as collective punishment by Pakistan army.
On several occasions when Pakistan army abducted women and demanded that men folk should surrender before Pakistani forces if they want the freedom of their women and children.
