Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
War of Tweets: ISI more dangerous than ISIS for Afghanistan
BW Web Desk: The newly nominated Interior Minister of Afghanistan in a social media message on Monday described Pakistan’s ISI more dangerous for Afghanistan than the Jihadist group ISIS.
The war of Tweets started after a US Senator Lindsey Graham’s tweet, ‘Our Afghan partners are incapable of subduing the threat posed by ISIS-K alone…’
Mr Saleh responded by saying, ‘All of my Afghan compatriots & international experts of terrorism would agree with me that the real threat is ISI not the tiny ISIS-K. Watch the ISI & the ISIS-K will vanish by itself. Plz ask the @CIA for confirmation. At least 30 million plus Afg know who the enemy is.’
Meanwhile, Amrullah Saleh’s tweet also irked Pakistan which expressed its disappointment over the nomination of two ‘anti-Pakistan’ ministers.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting has criticised Mr Saleh and said that the Afghan government was trying to conceal its failures by blaming Pakistan.
Fawad Tweeted, ‘Trivializing the threat of ISIS is to live in Cukoland, the new Afghan interior minister need a reality check. Decide if you want Pakistan as a partner or as a scapegoat for your own govt’s failures. Mr. Minister! Time to get real and give up phantom thoughts from a paranoid mind.’
It is pertinent to mention that the Afghan president Mr Ashraf Ghani has recommended adding two new ministers, Amrullah Saleh (Interior Minister) and Asadullah Khalid (Defence Minister) in his cabinet. However, the Afghan parliament is yet to approve their appointment.
These two Afghan leaders are known for their extreme views about Pakistan as they have always maintained that Pakistan is involved in state terrorism in Afghanistan.
The nominated ministers have also served as chief of Afghan intelligence NDS and previously demanded that Pakistan should be added in the list of terrorism-sponsoring countries.
