Balochistan: UNICEF staff kidnapped in Pishin, female polio worker injured in Quetta
QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen abducted a UNICEP worker from district Pashin while a female polio worker was injured when armed men attacked her in Quetta Balochistan on Wednesday.
Local authorities have reported that the UNICEF staff Mohammad Ameen was abducted at gunpoint by unknown motorcyclists.
His whereabouts remained unknown until the filing of this report.
In another incident, unknown armed men opened fire on a female polio worker in Bhosa Mandi area of Quetta.
According to details, Ghazala was busy giving polio drops to children when armed men riding a motorbike targeted her and escaped from the scene.
As a result of the attack, Ghazala sustained bullet wounds but her colleagues escaped unhurt.
The wounded polio worker was shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
So far no group has claimed responsibility of the attacks in Quetta and Pashin but religious extremists organisations have previously carried out such attacks against polio workers and UN staff in Balochistan.
