Balochistan: Four Baloch youth abducted from Kech and Khuzdar

QUETTA: Pakistan security forces and intelligence agencies have abducted at least four Baloch youth including two brothers from Balochistan’s Khuzdar and Kech districts in the past few days.

According to details, Pakistan FC and intelligence have conducted an offensive house-to-house search operation in Greshag area of Khuzdar on Monday and abducted two brothers.

The abducted brothers have been named as Zabad Jan and Peer Jan sons of Jangyan residents of Greshag Khuzdar Balochistan.

On Sunday 5th of January, Pakistani forces raided a house in Hoshab Dumb area of district Kech Balochistan and abducted a teenage boy.

The abducted boy has been identified as 15-year-old Arif son of Shakir resident of Hoshab Dum town in Turbat Balochistan.

Earlier on 4th January Pakistan forces raided a house in Baghbana another region of district Khuzdar Balochistan and abducted a Baloch youth.

The victim has been named as Muhammad Asif son of Abdul Karim Zehri. Prior to the raid on his house, Pakistan forces also raided a medical clinic where the young man used work, however, at the time the raid he wasn’t in the store.

The following morning, the Pakistani forces raided his house and forcibly abducted him.

It is pertinent to note that Pakistan army, FC and intelligence agencies have started enforced-disappearances in early 2000 in different areas of Balochistan.

Later in a change of pressure tactic, Pakistani forces have started to kill the disappeared Baloch under their custody and dump their bodies at roadsides and deserted places.

This policy of the Pakistani state has been termed as ‘kill and dump’ policy under which hundreds of abducted Baloch have been killed in custody and during staged encounters.

The families of abducted Baloch started peaceful protests under the banner of Voice for Baloch Missing persons in 2009. They have been demanding the discovery of their loved ones, bring them before the court of law and decide their fate according to law.

But, the Pakistani intelligence agencies and army considers themselves above the law and often disregard court orders.
