Baloch activists heckled Pakistani PM’s speech: Capital one Arena echoed with slogans of Freedom for Balochistan
Washington DC: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) in its official statement to media that its members and supporters raised the issue of Human Rights Violations, Pakistan’s war crimes against Baloch people and demanded freedom for Balochistan during Pakistani PM Imran Khan’s speech in Capital One Arena, Washington DC, the United States of America on Sunday 21 July.
According to details, an activist of FBM along with other Baloch activists interrupted PM Imran Khan’s speech when a crowd of nearly 20,000 had gathered to hear the PM’s speech.
The Free Balochistan Movement said, ‘When Pakistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, finished his speech and Imran Khan took the podium our brave activists and supporters started chanting slogans against human rights violations and in the favour Balochistan’s independence. Our chanted ‘Stop killing Baloch’, ‘Freedom for Balochistan’ and ‘Stop Baloch Genocide’.
‘Our activist tried to freely express their views on Balochistan’s reality by using rights which are enshrined in the First Amendment of the US constitution.’
However, according to FBM statement, the supporters of Pakistan’s government attacked the Baloch activists and assaulted them and the Pakistani diaspora made life threats on Baloch protesters during the event in the Capital One Arena, Washington DC.
The statement said that due to life threats local police escorted the Baloch activists and saved them from an angry and abusive crowd of Pakistan until Baloch activists were shifted at a safe location.
FBM in its statement vowed to continue advocate for freedom of Balochistan and raise the slogan of free Balochistan all over the world, adding that, ‘we are determined to expose Pakistan’s terrorism in occupied Balochistan.’
