Balochistan: Senior sub-editor wounded in firing by unknown assailants

QUETTA: Unknown armed men fire upon a senior sub-editor of Daily Azadi Quetta on Wednesday leaving him critically wounded.

According to details, the journalist was on his way home at the end of his routine work when unknown armed assailants opened fire at him on Kirani Road Quetta.

The victim Jamil Ahmad is the senior sub-editor of Daily Azadi Quetta and a member of Quetta Press Club.

He was immediately shifted to Quetta Civil hospital and admitted to the trauma centre where his condition is said to be out of danger. According to initial medical reports, he has four bullet wounds.

The Quetta Press Club and Balochistan Union of Journalists have strongly condemned the attack on Jamil Ahmad and demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
