Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
Balochistan: Four ‘unattended’ dead bodies buried in Quetta
QUETTA: The volunteers of Edhi have buried four dead bodies on Monday that were brought from different areas of the city. The unidentified dead bodies were declared as ‘unattended’ and laid to rest in Dasht graveyard.
In the beginning of this year (January) ten dead bodies were buried in the same graveyard by Ehdi foundation workers. They were also regarded as unrecognisable.
The BBC Urdu described Dasht Graveyard as ‘the village’ of unattended dead bodies.
The volunteers had told BBC that these dead bodies were found in different areas and acids were poured on the faces of most of the dead bodies to make it difficult to ascertain their identity.
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) and other Human Rights groups have expressed their concern that these dead bodies might be of the previously abducted Baloch activists.
The VBMP has been demanding for DNA facilities and a large morgue in Quetta where the dead bodies could be placed for a longer period so that families of abducted Baloch from far-flung areas of Balochistan could have a chance to see the bodies and confirm their identity.
The government so far has not heeded to the plea of VBMP and continues to bury the dead bodies in a hurry and in many instances, they were buried in the darkness of night.
