QUETTA: Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies abducted Abdul Hai Kurd from Machh Bolan on May 21, 2018. On completion of his two years of disappearance, her sister and social media activists took to Twitter on Thursday to demand his immediate release.

Abdul Hai Kurd’s sister, Nasreen Baloch, said that despite the passage of two long years, no trace of my brother has been found nor has he been produced in any court and given legal rights to defend himself.

She appealed to the international human rights organisations, Baloch political parties and the Supreme Court of Pakistan to play their role in the recovery of her brother.

She said, “we have been raising our voice in front of various press clubs including Quetta for the safe recovery of Abdul Hai Kurd but no one hears our plea.”

She added that if her brother has committed any wrongdoing then he should be presented a court of law and given the opportunity to prove in innocence.

She issued this statement amid the Twitter campaign by Baloch social media activists are using hashtag #SaveAbdulHaiKurd.

Meanwhile, the family of another abducted man, Mama Zarif, has also made a passionate appeal for his recovery.

Pakistani forces abducted Mama Zarif on March 31, 2019, from Parom area of district Panjgur Balochistan and transferred him to an unknown location.

Family members have not heard of him since his arrest and disappearance.

The family members have urged for his release for the sake of humanity, to help his save family from mental anguish and that they could have some peace of mind.

Like the sister of Abdul Hai Kurd Baloch, mama Zarif’s family also asked that he should be produced in a court and if found guilty of any crime, he should be punished according to the law.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani security forces have abducted thousands of Baloch men, women and children since the beginning of the new phase of Baloch freedom struggle in the year 2000.

in recent months Pakistani forces claimed to have release some Baloch abducted persons but Baloch pro-freedom activists say while few have been released, twice as many have been abducted and disappeared.
