Balochistan: President of YDA tests positive for COVID-19

QUETTA: The President of Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan, Dr Yasir Achakzai tested positive for the Coronavirus on Sunday.
Dr Achakzai had performed his duty at the Trauma Emergency Center Civil Hospital Quetta three days back.
The YDA spokespersons, Dr Rahim Babar, in a statement to media on Monday confirmed: “Dr Achakzai contracted Coronavirus while serving on the front line.”
He said that the YDA President played a key role in the provision of personal protective equipment (PPEs) to doctors and paramedics in Balochistan since the outbreak of the pandemic virus.
Sources say that around 150 doctors and 30 Paramedics have tested positive for Coronavirus in Balochistan.
Dr Yasir Achakzai was on emergency duty in the Trauma and Emergency Centre and Neurosurgery Unit of Sandeman Hospital Quetta, Balochistan only three days ago but now he will not be able to serve his patients due to the Covid-19.
