Balochistan: ‘QDA’ conspiring to demolished Baloch Martyrs Graveyard

QUETTA: The resident of New Kahan in the Hazar Ganji area on the outskirts of Quetta said that the and ‘Quetta Development Authority’ land mafia has long been trying to force them using various pressure tactic to evict them.
According to reports, the resident of New Kahan in their statement said that the Quetta Development Authority has planned to demolish the grave of Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, the founder modern Baloch national struggle for freedom, and graves of other martyrs of the liberation struggle in New Kahan.
The residents condemned the QDA’s plan in a joint statement, saying they would not allow the demolition of Nawab Marri’s grave under any circumstances.
They said that after a recent press statement from the residents of New Kahan, QDA along with other hired collaborates has planned to demolish the tomb of Nawab Khair bakhsh Marri and the gravestone of other Baloch martyrs to build a graveyard around it.
“We will never allow any such attempts. We will not allow QDA even to take one inch of land in New Kahan,” the statement read.
The joint statement further maintained that in the past attempts were made to evict the residents from New Kahan at different times but they failed.
“If anyone tries to take such a step, we will defend our land and the grave of our beloved leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri and other Baloch national martyrs.”
It is pertinent to mention that in the past also Pakistani forces, QDA and other land mafia groups tried to forcibly evacuate the residents of New Kahan Quetta.
The Baloch Martyrs Graveyard was also demolished once before as well but people of re-erected the gravestones and protect the graves of Baloch martyrs of the liberation struggle.
