International Day in Support of Victims of Torture: FBM protests in Germany
HANNOVER: The Free Balochistan Movement Germany Branch organised a protest rally in Germany’s Hannover city on the occasion of International Day in Support of Victims of Torture and to expose Pakistani and Iranian state atrocities against Baloch nation.
Pro-freedom Baloch activists, representatives of Pashtun Protection Movement and activists from liberal political parties in Germany also participated in FBM rally and demonstration.
The protesters chanted slogans against the Pakistani and Iranian occupation of Balochistan, human rights violations and torture inflicted on Baloch people by both fundamentalist states.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that Pakistan and Iran have made Balochistan a hell for its owners – the Baloch nation. Baloch people have been suffering from physical and mental violence for years at the hands of occupation forces of Pakistan and Iran.
The responsible institutions of the world have left the Baloch people at the mercy of the states that have been notorious for human rights violations, torture and mistreatment since their coming to existence.
The speakers further said that if the world had not remained silent on the genocide of Bengali people by Pakistan and held its military generals accountable for their war crimes in Bangladesh, today Pakistan would not have repeated same crimes and committed genocide in Balochistan.
The speakers said, unfortunately, Pakistan has been given full immunity and is freely engaged in the crimes against humanity in Balochistan that are prohibited by International Conventions.
FBM activists distributed hundreds of pamphlets to the German public entitled “Balochistan, where voices against torture and oppression are suppressed by torture” and briefed passerby on the current situation in Balochistan.
The speakers also highlighted the recent waves of violence including arrests of Balochistan students in Quetta – Balochistan’s capital – by Pakistani forces in Balochistan.
The FBM members also run a social media [Online] campaign using #StopTorturingBaloch to highlight Pakistani forces torture, racial abuse and other human rights violence against Baloch nation.
The Germany Branch of FBM produced a video via Aajoi TV YouTube Channel consisting of interviews of Baloch victims of Pakistani state torture.
