Balochistan: leadership of OST welfare organisation freed
QUETTA: Humanitarian workers of a charitable trust abducted from Karachi on different dates have been released and returned to their homes safely.
According to details, Chairman Ost Welfare Organisation Muhammad Jan Dashti, General Secretary Abdul Qayyum aka Wafa Baloch, Mullah Liaqat, Saeed Baloch along with another activist have been released.
It may be recalled that on July 10, 2020, Pakistani security agencies had abducted the Abdul Qayyum Wafa the General Secretary of Ost Welfare Organisation and when his brother Saeed Baloch and OST’s chairman Mohammad Jan Dashti came to Karachi to find out about his abduction, they were also abducted on 21 July 2020.
On the same night, Mullah Liaqat Wali one of the founders of OST was also abducted from Karachi. Hence, the entire cabinet of the OST Welfare organisation was arrested and transferred to unknown locations.
Following the arrest of its officeholders, the OST had announced to suspend its humanitarian activities which spread a wave of grave concern among poor and needy among patients from Balochistan who were receiving support from OST.
OST Welfare Organisation has shouldered the responsibility of treating various poor patients from Balochistan who suffer from lethal diseases like cancer.
currently, hundreds of patients who otherwise could not afford treatment are being treated at different hospitals with the support of OST.
The release of OST’s leadership and possible recommencement of their humanitarian work has rekindled the hopes of the poor patients of Balochistan.
