Balochistan: Four IRGC members wounded in Zahedan explosion
DOZZAAP (Zahedan): The Iranian state media reported on Wednesday that at least four security officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were injured in a bomb attack in Zahedan city in Iranian Occupied Balochistan (IOB).
The Balochistan provincial police chief, Brigadier General Mohammad Ghanbari confirmed to media that powerful explosions rocked Zahedan city around 8:30 pm Tehran times.
He said a bomb disposal unit was dispatched shortly afterward and while they were trying to ascertain the first blast, they found a suspected packed with an explosive device, the device blew up as they tried to defuse it.
As a result four members of IRGC were wounded.
The blasts occurred near a security forces station and the target was said to be a nearby parked security forces vehicle.
IRNA reported that Jaish ul-Adl accepted responsibility for the attack in a statement.
The group said in a statement said it had targeted a police station with “two strong bombs”, damaging a police car and a police motorcycle.
The deputy governor of Iranian occupied Balochistan for security affairs Mohammad Hadi Marashi was quoted by Iranian media as saying that investigations are still underway by security and police forces and claimed that such attacks would not impact the security situation.
The Baloch people in the Iranian occupied part of Balochistan have long been complaining against Iran’s state-level discriminatory actions.
As well as the Baloch, other oppressed nations including Kurds, Arab and Turks also face Iranian state brutalities.
