Balochistan: Three Killed and One Injured in Grenade Explosion in Morthan
Justice For Shaheena Shaheen
By Aaliyah Shah
Shaheena Shaheen was a rights activist, anchorperson, artist and a champion for women’s liberties. Today, when it appears to hers right, this unscrupulous society has veered around hers back on it. Whoever killed Shaheena, her murderer must be given exemplary punishment. Whether the murderer is her husband, the people of the state, or whoever. So Murder is murder and the punishment for killing is death.
I raise voice for Shaheena. If anyone agrees with me, let them raise their voices if those who think it was a domestic problem turn off their mobile data and wait and watch for the next bloodbath on in the name of another domestic issue. Or I should believe that these unscrupulous, conscious, educated, sensible, intelligent and civilised people without reason do not seek justice for anyone.
It is worth thinking that, this bloodbath took place in a place where there is tight security around the clock, that a common man can’t carry even a knife let alone carry other more dangerous weapons.
Ironically, someone was shot at and no one heard the firing or seen the killer. Nobody knows what happened! This a sign of collective ignorance and silence agreement to the killing of women in the name of honour killing but they don’t know that there is no honour in an honour killing.
It is very difficult for me to believe that only her husband was involved in Shaheena’s murder. If he was her husband in the true meaning of the word ‘husband’ he would have never broken his vows and pledges. He either lured and tricked her into marrying only to make her his easy prey or he was working on someone else’s agenda.
If humanity is alive, then justice should be sought for Shaheena’s in the same way as the voice is being raised for Maliknaz, Hayat Baloch, and everyone else. Justice should be sought in the same way and with the same zeal as it was sought for Bramsh Baloch. Do we get justice as an oppressed and occupied nation that is a different question but we should not be selective in demanding justice.
She was not only an ordinary housewife but also an artist and a journalist and above all, she was a Baloch, a daughter of occupied Balochistan, a daughter always raised her voice for women’s liberties.
Shaheena should get her last rights and she must get justice. Her killer should be punished and hanged. Not that I’m a fan of capital punishment but exceptions should be made in some cases.
Stay asleep, the killer will get a higher status one day. She has been killed for any reason. I raise my voice for her. Those who agree with me will raise their voices for Shaheena’s justice or leave women to die in domestic issues and remain silent. If we do not speak up today, then never will we speak ever…
