Balochistan: Three Killed and One Injured in Grenade Explosion in Morthan
Protest held against murder of Journalist Shaheena Shaheen
AMSTERDAM: The Baloch Community Netherlands organized a protest in Amsterdam against the killing of Baloch women, including Baloch journalist, artist and anchorperson Shaheena Shaheen Baloch.
Baloch writers and artists and political activists attended the demonstration and strongly condemned the senseless killing of Baloch women, including Shaheena Shaheen.
Demonstrators termed the assassination of Baloch journalist Shahina Shaheen as part of state ambitions and a ploy to block the path of Baloch arts, including the socio-political development of Baloch women.
“They want to push the Baloch society towards religious fanaticism and extremism by creating an atmosphere of fear in the Baloch society. ”
The protesters further added, “Shahina Shaheen wanted to bring Baloch women to the arts and crafts. In this regard, she had conducted several workshops and was working on various projects. She also encouraged Baloch women to write and ‘Dazgohaar Magazine’ was part of this exciting series.”
The protesters called on the International Court of Justice and the United Nations Human Rights Commission, to put pressure on Pakistan to end its oppression of the Baloch people in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan, protests were also organised in Quetta and Karachi to condemn the murder of Shaheena Shaheen and demand the immediate arrest of her killers.
The protesters said that the murder of Malik Naz Baloch, Kulsoom Baloch and student Hayat Baloch in the last few months in Turbat indicates the beginning of a dangerous trend.
“The death squads and drug mafia back by the government are pushing Baloch society toward backwardness and it’s our responsibility to stop them,” the protester said.
