Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
We are conscious
Ganjain Baloch
I first met late Banuk Karima Baloch when Baloch national leader Nawabzada Hyrbyair Marri’s trial was taking place in the United Kingdom. Then, I had no idea that she was emerging as the leader of a student organisation.
Obviously, in the Baloch society, Banuk Banadi Baloch and other Baloch mothers, daughters and sisters challenged and confronted the imperialist powers in different periods. If we look at the struggle of Karima Baloch for her homeland [Balochistan] not only she renewed the struggle of brave Baloch women but she put a new life into the Baloch freedom movement.
After the martyrdom of Ghulam Mohammad Baloch, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Balach and countless other leaders and activists, there was a lot of immediate severe reaction and anger among Baloch masses but then the situation was different. Looking at today’s situation and the reaction of Banuk Mahrang Baloch about her sister’s [Karima Baloch] ‘mysterious death’ on international level indicates a positive change.
Fearing the protests from every corner of Balochistan and the slogans that ‘Karima, your blood will bring a revolution’, the state [Pakistan] announced the deployment of additional 30,000 troops in Balochistan. The slogan of Baloch masses seems factual because that silent masses have held their anger for long enough and perhaps Karima’s death was turning point for the volcano ‘public anger’ to erupt.
The state narrative has always been that there is a ‘handful anti-state element’ in Balochistan that have challenged the ‘writ of the state’. If there are a few people or only a handful, then what is the need to deploy 30,000 soldiers? It became clear that the enemy of the Baloch movement is afraid Baloch awareness and conscious to death but they are trying to cover their fear with various excuses.
Just as Karima Baloch was spreading the voice of Balochistan to international media, it was an important message to the world that if you do not support the Baloch, the Baloch will come at your doorstep to shake your conscious and to wake you up.
If the state wants to intimidate the Baloch nation by launching ‘international kill and dump’ of the Baloch leaders after the Baloch massacre and genocide in Balochistan, then it is their mistake. The death of Sajid Hussain and Karima Baloch cannot divert the path of Baloch struggle and such tactics cannot stop the Baloch nation from raising its voice on the world stage.
Because now the Baloch have become conscious.
