Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Balochistan: Students from Multan and Peshawar Universities express solidarity with Baloch students
QUETTA: The Pashtun Students Federation from Islamia College University Peshawar staged a protest for the recovery of Baloch students Sohail Baloch and Fasih Baloch who were forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani intelligence agencies from the University of Balochistan in Quetta.
A large number of Pashtun students gathered on the campus and chanted slogans against the enforced disappearance of Baloch students at the University of Balochistan, saying that the Balochistan University incident was reprehensible.
The participants said that they share in the pain of the families of the Baloch students and they organised the demonstration in solidarity with the Baloch students.
He said that such incidents at the University of Balochistan were a failure of the state – he demanded the recovery of missing students.
It should be noted that a series of protests have started in various universities and other educational institutions for the recovery of abducted Sohail Baloch and Fasih Baloch.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan, several educational institutions remained closed and students have boycotted classes and exams. The Government Degree College Sariab Road, Polytechnic College, Balochistan University, Sardar Bahadur Khan University, Inter College Kechi Beg, Balochistan IT University Science College and Bolan Medical College remained closed for all activities on Monday at the request of student organizations.
Former Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani also expressed solidarity with the students who have been protesting for 15 days on the campus of Balochistan University and demanded recovery of the missing students.
Also, the Baloch Students Council in Multan, Punjab, organized a peace walk at Zakaria University on Monday for the two missing students from the University of Balochistan – in which Baloch, Pashtun and other progressive students participated and expressed their concern over the disappearances of students from Balochistan University.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that Fasih Baloch and Sohail Baloch, who were studying in the Department of Pakistan Studies, are missing from the University of Balochistan. Law enforcement agencies, including the administration, have no idea why cameras are turned off on the day of their abduction. ‘When students are not safe in the classroom, then they cannot be safe in any corner of the world,’ the protesters lamented.
