Balochistan: Pakistani forces suffer losses in clashes with Baloch fighters
QUETTA: The Pakistani army has been conducting fresh offensives in Bambore and surrounding areas of Balochistan’s district Kohlu since Sunday morning.
The Spokesman of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Azad Baloch, in a statement to the media said that Baloch fighters have repelled the Pakistani force attempts to encircle their bases. As a result of strong retaliation from the Baloch fighters, Pakistani forces suffered heavy casualties.
Azad Baloch said that Pakistani forces had expanded their offensives in Bambore, Trataani and adjoining areas of Kahan.
He further maintained that BLA fighters have thwarted an attempt of Pakistani ground and air forces to besiege and attack one of their camps.
He added, “The BLA’s organised resistance has not only forced the enemy forces to retreat but they also suffered heavy losses during the clashes with our fighters.”
The BLA spokesman said that the ‘occupying Pakistani forces’ wanted to pave the way for regional and international companies to plunder the natural resources of Balochistan, especially, the oil reserves in the Bambore region.
He said that there have been similar unsuccessful attempts by previous military dictators and rulers during the 70s and later.
The BLA in its statement warned local contractors and companies not to be a part of such exploitative schemes of the Pakistani army in Balochistan.
Spokesman Azad Baloch said that our organization Baloch Liberation Army has strongly opposed many such military operations and defended the national resources in these areas since the days of Parvez Musharraf’s military dictatorship. “We pledge that we will continue this tradition in the future as well,” Azad Baloch said.
