Balochistan: Pakistan Coast Guard patrol team attacked in Gwadar
QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army in a statement to the media accepted the responsibility for an attack on the Pakistan Coast Guard in the Jiwani area of Gwadar on February 3, 2023.
The spokesperson for BLA, Azad Baloch, said that four personnel were killed and five seriously injured during Friday’s attack.
He added, “Our Sarmachaars attacked a Pakistani Coast Guard patrol team at Daran in coastal city Jiwani in Gwadar Occupied Balochistan.”
BLA in its statement said that fighters first hit a Coast Guard vehicle, carrying nine personnel, with a remote-controlled bomb and then attacked them with automatic weapons.
The Coast Guard team was targeted when they were on their way to the lighthouse camp with other personnel on patrol from the beach.
As a result of the attack, 4 personnel including Coast Guard constable Samir Saqib and Havaldar Waqar were killed while Lance Naik Mehboob, Sepoy Mudassar, Sepoy Saleem, Sepoy Irfan and Sepoy Junaid were seriously injured.
“Like other forces of the enemy, the Coast Guard also exploits the Baloch people in the coastal areas of occupied Balochistan on a daily basis, exploiting their economic and even basic human rights.
“Our such attacks will continue till the independence of occupied Balochistan,” Azad Baloch said.
