Balochistan: Surge in Military offensives and enforced-disappearances
QUETTA: Pakistani forces have conducted fresh offensives in several regions of Kohlu Balochistan on Friday and Saturday.
According to reports, at least eight people including a student of Balochistan University have been abducted during this latest aggression in Kohlu.
On Friday, March 10, the Pakistani army carried out offensives in Jannatalli lop, Rogheni, Arandani, Sekhun, Nisau and surrounding areas.
Locals informed Balochwarna News that Pakistani forces have used gunships helicopters to drop its military commandos for ground offensives. The helicopters have been sighted flying toward the besieged areas twice on Friday.
On Saturday, Pakistani forces conducted offensives in Kahan town and surrounding areas creating terror and panic among the residents.
At least nine people have been arrested and taken to an unknown location during the two days of offensives. The detainees have been named as
- Abdul Sattar S/O Rabnawaz – a student of Bachelor of Science (BS) at the University of Balochistan.
- 80- Years-Old Maoran son of Dura – Laborer
- Fifteen-Year-Old Mohd Azim son of Ghous Bakhsh – Camel herder
- Lal son of Mir Hamad – 80-year-old Shepherd
- Jamal Khan – a Masjid (Mosque) Imam
- Molvi Ghulam Bakhsh aka Mulah Gamo son of Durra
- Mughal son of Durra – Farmer
- Bashkaya son of Mehran, a farmer
- Muhammad Javed son of Rasool Bakhsh Community school teacher
As the area is still cordoned off, it is difficult to access more information, however, there are fears that more civilians may have been abducted by Pakistani forces.
It should be remembered that news of military operations is being received continuously from different areas of Balochistan.
In recent days, military offensives were conducted in the mountain ranges of Gwadar, while cases of forced disappearances have also come to light from Gwadar city.
Pakistan army carried out aggression in districts Kech and Khuzdar on Saturday. There have been no reports of any casualties or arrests at the time of filing this news report.
