Free Balochistan Movement protest in Germany and the UK
LONDON/KOLN: The Free Balochistan Movement UK and Germany Branches protested against the Baloch genocide by Pakistan and Iran in front of the British Prime Minister’s official residence in London and in Cologne city in Germany on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.
This protest was against the illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan and Iran and the continuous genocide of the Baloch people in Balochistan to maintain their occupation.
Rasheed Baloch, the Organiser of the FBM UK Branch said that the purpose of today’s protest on behalf of the Free Balochistan Movement was to inform the world about the human rights in Balochistan at the hands of Pakistan and Iran.
He said while Pakistan abducts and kills half a dozen Baloch every week, Iran executes a similar number of Baloch in a week. Hence the Baloch are facing genocide by both states and “we want to request the British and European public to urge their governments to stop supporting Pakistan and Iran.”
Nobat Marri, head of the FBM Information Department, said that Iran and Pakistan occupied Balochistan and have committed crimes including extrajudicial killings, abductions and executions since then.
“We are protesting outside the UK PM’s official residence to remind him that Balochistan was a sovereign nation but they [British] it for their interests. “
He added that the current human rights violations, killings and abductions in Balochistan are the states’ policy against Baloch people as they want to either kill Baloch or expel them from their lands to change the demography of Balochistan.
He said it was because of the illegal occupation of Balochistan that Baloch were facing genocide and war crimes.
“We Baloch must unite as a nation against Iran and Pakistan to regain our freedom because until and unless we are free the occupiers will not stop their atrocities including abductions and killings
“We must understand that we are a separate nation but Iran and Pakistan want to impose their alien identity on us to obliterate our national identity.”
The speakers in Cologne Germany also urged the civilised world to support Baloch as Baloch rights are also human rights. They said in Balochistan peaceful protests are violently attacked and silenced.
They said in Iranian-Occupied Balochistan hardly a day passed without a Baloch being killed either executed or target killed by state forces.
“Baloch Sokhtbar (fuel carriers) are routinely target and political agitators are increasingly being implicated in bogus charges and sentenced to death by Iran’s kangaroo courts.”
They also said the UN was established after the Second World War to bring peace and stop future wars but soon after the UN came into existence Pakistan attacked and occupied Balochistan and the world did nothing to stop Pakistan’s illegal occupation of Balochistan.
The silence of the world on the plight of oppressed and occupied nations shows that these institutions are only made to serve the interest of the powerful, not the occupied and oppressed nations.
The speakers highlighted that one of the main shortcomings of the Baloch nation was the lack of Unity and cooperation with each other due to which the Baloch nation so far has not succeeded in gaining their freedom.
That’s why Baloch must unite to achieve their goal and regain their freedom from occupiers.
